Fun & Beautiful Block Island Engagement Session

May 24, 2022

Sydney and Josh are an adorable couple that live in Chicago and chose to do a Block Island engagement session. They are both busy doctors but, have been taking time to plan their wedding on Block Island this summer. They are getting married at Spring House, (which if you have never) been sits on a hill overlooking the ocean with 360-degree views! It is stunning!

Meaningful Block Island Engagement Session

You see, Sydney and Josh both grew up in Rhode Island. They picked this venue because they both would vacation on Block Island as kids. The island has a lovely destination feel, but isn’t too far for their families to travel!

Sydney and Josh kindly invited me out to Block Island to get to meet her family and to explore the island. It was my first time taking the ferry to Block Island. It was very relaxing and so peaceful and I knew I definitely wanted to come back again one day. Sydney’s family was there on the island to greet me and show me some of their favorite spots – one spot was where they would hunt for sea glass.

A Family Affair

Since Sydney’s family was there, we decided to do a combo family and engagement session! We started with family photos which was honestly so much fun. I’m all about family and getting to know my couple’s family more before their wedding day was such a wonderful perk!

Once the family photos were done Sydney, Josh and I roamed the island and they took me to some more of their favorite spots. We went from the cliffs of Mohegan Bluffs to the rocky beaches to the adorable downtown. Block Island has so much to offer!

I’m so excited to photograph Sydney and Josh’s wedding this year! They have been both hard at work so this is going to be a beautiful destination wedding with friends and family. If you are looking to book your own session on Block Island, contact me here.
