When it comes to locales ideal for celebrating love, there’s nothing quite like mountainside gardens. Alisha and Jon wanted natural elegance with a chic touch for their summer wedding in New Hampshire. Between the setting, fun-loving couple, and their loving friends and family, capturing their big day was a blast.

An Ethereal Mountain Garden Wedding in New Hampshire
The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain are located in the Southern New Hampshire village of Goffstown. The picturesque property includes 15 acres of gardens, which have been tended lovingly for over 40 years. The wedding venue, named after the mountain on which it sits, formerly sold plants to avid gardeners.
The grounds provided a fairytale garden atmosphere, perfect for the natural theme Alisha and Jon envisioned for their July wedding. Their neutral gold, champagne, white, ivory, and blush color palette—combined with their guests’ florals and summer hues—completed the classic garden party vibe.

A Full-circle Love Story

Jon and Alisha met as freshmen at Bishop Guertin High School in 2002. While they didn’t date in high school, they became close friends and got to know each other’s families. As Jon graduated from BG and Alisha moved onto Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH, they stayed connected via Facebook and texting.
Jon attended Wesleyan University while Alisha went to Stonehill College, where she ran into and became friends with his older brother, James. Jon and Alisha reconnected in 2011, when he found the courage to ask her out on a date—and they’ve been together ever since.

The Proposal
In August 2019, the pair were walking along Fieldstone Beach in Marshfield, MA, searching for sea glass (one of their favorite hobbies). At one point, Jon knelt down and exclaimed he had found another beautiful piece of sea glass. When Alisha turned around, she discovered that the “sea glass” was actually an engagement ring. He proposed, she happily said Yes!, and the rest is history.
A Plethora of Photo Ops
My favorite part of the day was how Alisha and Jon loved photography so much and were so excited for their New Hampshire wedding. The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain are a huge property with so many unique photo opportunities.
From their first-look photos in the Formal Rose Garden…

To their ceremony in front of The Great Pine…

To their reception in the tent…

We took advantage of all of them, using the stunning backdrops to highlight their personalities, joy, and love.

Summer Wedding Inspiration in the Granite State
Alisha and Jon’s nuptials offer stunning inspiration for any couple considering a summer wedding in New Hampshire. I always love getting creative in one-of-a-kind outdoor spaces, and it was a pleasure working with a wonderful couple who appreciate photography. Thanks to Alisha and Jon for making me a part of your special event!
